E Sargeant & Son supports the Vishaal Foundation memorial service

E Sargeant & Son Funeral Directors is proud to have once again supported The Vishaal Foundation with their 5th annual International Wave of Light Service, which took place on 15th October in Herschel Park, Slough.

Nearly 200 people attended this annual the service on a day recognised across the world as Pregnancy and Child Loss Remembrance Day. At 7pm candles were lit to coincide with candles all across the world before lanterns were set out onto the lake in a beautiful flotilla of light.

Operations Manager Mark Clements said: “We’ve been involved with the Wave of Light since it was first introduced in Slough by the Vishaal Foundation but this year’s was the most atmospheric yet and well attended.”

Aside from helping The Vishaal Foundation, this project enabled E Sargeant & Son to work with other community groups who assisted at the service, without whom none of this would have been possible. These were: Friends of Herschel Park, Aik Saath and Slough Town Community Football Club.

All three organisations provided volunteers who were invaluable, assisting with the set-up and clean-up of the event. Slough Town Community Football Club provided the refreshments free of charge. In addition, St Mary’s Church, Slough provided the tables and chairs.

Thanks should also go to Paul Larkins and Rachael Palmer who gave up their time from 2pm – 9.30pm to help set up, help at the service and then clear away. The service couldn’t have taken place without the superb support of Slough Borough Council  who provided use of Herschel Park free of charge with their park manager, Ian Judd, present from beginning to end.
